Spoiler alert: It is quite a lot.
All of the values below are for “medium” or “regular” size drinks (e.g. a “grande” in Starbucks, a “medio” in Costa), but the actual sizes of the drinks may vary.
For reference, a 330ml can of Coke contains 35g sugar. The guideline daily amount of sugar in a woman’s diet is 90g – but only 30g of that should come from added sugars.
For example, a standard Pret latte contains 11g of sugar
It’s when flavoured syrups and chocolate get involved that the sugar count really goes up. But even with fancy coffees, opting for a smaller size will often give you the same sweet creamy hit without quite so much sugar, if that’s what you want.
