We Tried This Crazy Expensive Cheese Toastie To See If It Was Worth All The Fuss

After reading several articles online this week about what ~could be~ Sydney’s (or probably Australia’s tbh) most expensive cheese toastie, we decided to track it down and, well, eat it.

The toastie in question was just added to the menu at Sydney’s Bennelong Restaurant, which - if you hadn’t guessed - happens to be fancy AF. It’s also inside the Opera House, which is fucking insane.

The $22 sandwich contains five different kinds of cheese - each from impressive locations, according to the chef who was grilling them up in front of us. It’s also served with truffles - go figure.

Two of the cheeses were from Tasmania, and according to the chef they “smelled really bad, but we are working on it.” Working on it? How? Do they have a machine that makes cheese not smelly?
